The Harcourt Street line ran on an embankment / viaduct from this point all the way to Harcourt Street station. This resulted in a number of low bridges for road traffic on the route. Acceptable for the late 1800's but not for the 21st century with double decker buses etc. Therefore when the LRT was being built on the formation of the Harcourt Street line it was decided to cross Beechwood Road at grade instead of a bridge. This has resulted in this very interesting dip being created. Beechwood stop in the distance is built on the site on Ranelagh and Rathmines Station. Wed 11.07.07

At approx 0930 - 1000 hours tram 3013 was declared a failure. Shortly before 1300 tram 3023 arrived on the scene to offer assistance. The two are seen coupled up via a towbar in Connolly shortly before departure to the Red Cow Depot. Of interest is the two trams are each 30 metres long. It looks like this proceedure will not be possible once all trams have been extended to 40 metres. Wed 02.01.08

As part of the upgrade of the M50, Dublin's C-ring motorway the tram tracks are to be realigned and segregated from road traffic at the notorious Red Cow roundabout. This means the bridge on which 3016 is travelling will be abandoned for tram use with the new alignment in the backround out of sight. Mon 21.07.08
