Plus several aircraft from the Lime Tree Airfield near Portarlington, which held their Annual Fly In on the Saturday & Sunday. Sunday saw Kerry playing Meath in the All Ireland Football Semi-Final at Croke Park. IE provided a special train from Killarney at 0725 to Dublin. This was formed of 216 + 8 MKIII. The 0715 Tralee - Mallow was extended to Heuston also on this day and was formed of 232 + 8 MKIII. Other bits and bobs seen during the day were: 208 1000 Heuston - Cork 075 stabled at Portarlington on a ballast train. 22003 + 22007 1125 Heuston - Limerick. 226 1800 Heuston - Cork In the evening 225 worked the 1810 Heuston - Killarney Special and 223 was provided to work the 1910 Heuston - Tralee service which was MKIII's to provide additional capacity. |
